There are two routes to Everest Base Camp Trek one that begins from Lukla and another that begins from Jiri. This trekking region is mostly inhabited by the Sherpa people. Sherpa are famous for mountaineering and as a trekking guide in the world. Most popular festivals of the Sherpa people are Dumje festival which falls in the month of May and the Masked Mani Rimdu Dance which is performed in the Monastery. In the Everest region trekking you can visit numerous monasteries including the world highest Tengboche monastery.
The adventurous Jiri to Everest base camp trek begins with the scenic drive from Kathmandu to Jiri which is also known as the Switzerland of Nepal. While travelling to Jiri you can enjoy with the Himalayan landscapes, view of the river including Bhote Koshi and Sun Koshi, ethnic villages, as well as mountains. In this trek you traverse through the different attractive places like Jiri, Junbenshi , Taksindo, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Syangboche, world heritage Sagarmatha National Park, etc. In Sagarmatha national park, you can explore various types of flora and fauna as well as encounter wildlife like Himalayan Tahr, Red Panda,, musk deer, snow leopard etc. The best season to go for Jiri to Everest base camp trek are autumn and spring when the weather is clear and you can have the clear view of the mountains as well as the natural scenery.
