Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Paro, visit Paro Dzong and National Museum

Arrive in Paro and meet your guide, who will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Paro Dzong, a traditional fortress that overlooks the Paro Valley. Afterward, explore the National Museum, which offers a comprehensive look at Bhutan’s history, culture, and art. Spend the evening strolling through Paro town, enjoying its unique charm and tranquility.

Day 2Drive to Thimphu, visit Tashichho Dzong and Buddha Dordenma

After breakfast, drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Start by visiting Tashichho Dzong, a majestic fortress that houses the government offices and monastic body. In the afternoon, visit the massive Buddha Dordenma statue, which overlooks the valley and offers breathtaking views. Spend the evening exploring the local markets and handicrafts stalls.

Day 3Drive to Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong

After breakfast, drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass, enjoying panoramic views of the Himalayas. In Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and significant fortresses, located at the confluence of the Mo and Pho Rivers. After your visit, explore the surrounding area and enjoy a relaxing evening in Punakha.

Day 4Visit Chimi Lhakhang and explore local villages

Today, visit Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the “Divine Madman” and famous for its fertility blessings. Afterward, spend time exploring the nearby villages, where you can observe traditional Bhutanese farming and local life. Return to your hotel for a restful evening in the beautiful Punakha Valley.

Day 5Return to Paro for departure

On your final day, drive back to Paro, retracing your scenic route through the valleys and mountains. Upon arrival, you may have time to explore Paro further or do some last-minute shopping before heading to the airport for your departure. Leave Bhutan with lasting memories of its stunning dzongs and rich cultural history.
