Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Paro, visit Paro Dzong and National Museum

Upon arrival in Paro, you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Paro Dzong, an impressive fortress with views of the Paro Valley. Afterward, explore the National Museum, where you’ll discover exhibits on Bhutanese culture, history, and art. Spend the evening strolling through Paro town or relaxing at your hotel.

Day 2Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

After breakfast, set off on a hike to Bhutan’s iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched on a cliffside high above the valley. The trek is both scenic and spiritually significant, offering panoramic views and a serene environment. Upon reaching the monastery, spend time exploring its sacred temples before descending back to Paro for a restful evening.

Day 3Drive to Thimphu, visit Memorial Chorten and Tashichho Dzong

Take a scenic drive to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu. Upon arrival, visit the Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the third king, where locals gather to pray. Next, explore Tashichho Dzong, a majestic fortress that houses the government offices and monastic body. Enjoy the evening at your hotel or take a walk around Thimphu’s quiet streets.

Day 4Explore Thimphu’s handicrafts, markets, and Buddha Dordenma

Spend the day discovering Thimphu’s local handicraft shops and markets, where you can find traditional Bhutanese textiles, pottery, and souvenirs. In the afternoon, visit Buddha Dordenma, a massive statue overlooking the valley, offering breathtaking views. Take the rest of the day to relax or explore more of Thimphu at your own pace.

Day 5Drive to Bumthang, visit Jambay Lhakhang

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Bumthang, Bhutan’s spiritual heartland. Upon arrival, visit Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, believed to have been built in the 7th century. Explore the temple grounds and learn about its religious significance. Enjoy a peaceful evening at your hotel in Bumthang.

Day 6Explore Bumthang temples and monasteries

Spend the day exploring Bumthang’s rich spiritual sites, including Kurjey Lhakhang and Tamshing Monastery, both important religious centers. Take in the serene beauty of the region, with its rolling hills and tranquil atmosphere. Learn about the deep spiritual traditions that have shaped Bhutan’s culture and end the day with a peaceful evening back at your hotel.

Day 7Return to Paro for departure

After breakfast, drive back to Paro, retracing your route through the picturesque valleys and mountain passes. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for one last night in Bhutan. If time allows, explore Paro further or relax before your departure the following day, leaving Bhutan with a deep connection to its culture and spirituality.
