Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, our local representative will transfer you to your hotel. After a brief rest, begin exploring Paro’s cultural landmarks.

First, visit Rinpung Dzong, a 16th-century fortress-monastery known for its stunning Bhutanese architecture and intricate woodwork. Serving as Paro’s administrative and religious center, it offers insight into Bhutan’s heritage.

Next, head to Taa Dzong, a former watchtower now housing the National Museum of Bhutan. Explore exhibits featuring Bhutanese art, history, and culture, including ancient thangkas, traditional costumes, and religious artifacts. Enjoy panoramic views of Paro Valley from the museum.

In the evening, stroll through Paro town, visiting local markets and quaint streets. Return to your hotel for a relaxing night before your trekking adventure. Overnight in Paro.

Day 2Trek from Paro to Jele Dzong – Forest Walk and Ancient Fortress

After an early breakfast, drive to the trailhead and begin your trek to Jele Dzong. The trail ascends gradually through dense rhododendron and pine forests, alive with birdsong and occasional wildlife sightings.

As you climb higher, enjoy glimpses of Paro Valley below. By early afternoon, reach Jele Dzong, a historic fortress perched on a ridge with stunning views of Mount Jomolhari on clear days. Explore its ruins and visit the small temple still used by monks.

Set up camp nearby, surrounded by serene mountain landscapes. Enjoy a warm meal under the stars before an overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 3Trek from Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha – Ridges and Mountain Views

After breakfast, continue trekking toward Jangchulakha along ridges with stunning mountain and valley views. As you ascend, the air cools, and the landscape transitions to alpine terrain with dwarf rhododendrons and juniper.

Enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the Himalayas, with possible sightings of Mount Jomolhari and peaks along the Bhutan-Tibet border. Pass yak herder settlements and glimpse the nomadic highland lifestyle.

By late afternoon, reach your campsite near Jangchulakha, surrounded by rolling hills and vast mountain vistas. Relax in the fresh mountain air before an overnight stay in camp.

Day 4Trek from Jangchulakha to Jimilangtsho Lake – Yaks and Mountain Lakes

Today’s trek takes you to the stunning Jimilangtsho Lake, a high-altitude lake known for its pristine waters and tranquil beauty. After breakfast, begin your trek through undulating terrain, crossing several ridges and passing more yak herder camps. The trail offers more expansive views of the Himalayan range, with opportunities to spot blue sheep and other mountain wildlife along the way.

As you approach Jimilangtsho Lake, you’ll notice the landscape becoming more dramatic, with rugged mountains reflecting in the crystal-clear waters of the lake. The lake itself is surrounded by grassy meadows and rocky outcrops, making it a perfect spot to relax and take in the serene environment.

Set up camp near the lake and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as the sun sets behind the mountains. In the evening, you can sit by the campfire and listen to stories from your trekking guide or simply enjoy the star-filled sky. Overnight in camp by Jimilangtsho Lake.

Day 5Trek from Jimilangtsho to Thimphu – Forests, Farms, and City Exploration

After enjoying a peaceful morning by Jimilangtsho Lake, you will begin your descent towards Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The trail takes you through beautiful forests of pine and oak, gradually descending into more fertile farmland as you approach the outskirts of Thimphu. Along the way, you’ll pass through small villages and terraced fields, offering a glimpse into the traditional rural lifestyle of Bhutanese farmers.

Upon reaching Thimphu, you will have some time to explore the city’s attractions. You may choose to visit the Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and the summer residence of the monastic body, or the Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s third king. Thimphu is a unique capital, blending traditional Bhutanese architecture with modern conveniences, and you’ll have the chance to visit its local markets, cafes, and cultural sites.

In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Paro for your final night in Bhutan. Enjoy a farewell dinner with your group, celebrating the completion of your trek. Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in Paro.
