Itinerary

Day 1Drive to Manebhanjan

Begin your Sandakphu trek with a drive to Manebhanjan, the starting point of your adventure. After reaching, enjoy lunch at a local eatery while taking in the views of the surrounding hills. The day sets the stage for your trek as you prepare for the journey ahead. The trek to Tumling (around 10 km) begins in the afternoon, leading you through lush forests and vibrant villages. Enjoy the fresh mountain air and engage with locals to learn about their lifestyle. Upon arrival in Tumling, unwind at a cozy lodge and enjoy a hearty dinner while sharing stories with fellow trekkers.

Day 2Tumling to Kalipokhri

On Day 2, trek to Kalipokhri, approximately 12 km away. This leg of the journey takes you through dense rhododendron forests and offers panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas. Along the way, you’ll encounter quaint villages where you can observe the local way of life. Upon reaching Kalipokhri, visit the sacred lake that gives the village its name, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The evening is perfect for stargazing, as the clear mountain skies reveal countless stars, creating a magical atmosphere for your overnight stay.

Day 3Kalipokhri to Sandakphu

This is the most exhilarating day of the trek, as you ascend to Sandakphu, the highest point in West Bengal. Covering approximately 7 km, the trail offers awe-inspiring views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The trek is challenging but rewarding, with every step bringing you closer to the towering peaks. Upon reaching Sandakphu, take a moment to soak in the breathtaking panorama and enjoy a packed lunch. Day 4Sandakphu to Phalut

On Day 4, trek from Sandakphu to Phalut, a distance of around 21 km. The trail winds through mesmerizing landscapes filled with meadows, rhododendron forests, and sweeping mountain vistas. As you trek, you’ll encounter rare wildlife and enjoy the tranquility of the wilderness. Arrive at Phalut by afternoon and revel in the unparalleled views of the Himalayan range. Day 5Phalut to Gorkhey

Begin your trek from Phalut to Gorkhey, covering approximately 12 km through scenic trails adorned with flowers and lush vegetation. The day is marked by stunning vistas, with each turn revealing breathtaking landscapes. Upon reaching Gorkhey, settle into a local homestay where you can experience authentic village life. Day 6Gorkhey to Rimbik
