This 26-day adventure begins with your arrival in Kathmandu and continues through a series of breathtaking locations across Nepal and Tibet. Starting with a day in Kathmandu to arrange your China visa, the journey then takes you from Nepalgunj to Simikot and through a series of picturesque Tibetan villages and high-altitude treks. You will trek through diverse terrains, from lush valleys to rugged mountains, culminating in the sacred Mount Kailash circuit. The trek offers profound spiritual experiences, stunning landscapes, and the opportunity to explore ancient Tibetan culture.

The journey continues with scenic drives through the Tibetan plateau, visiting important sites such as Lake Manasarovar and the monasteries of Darchen, Dirapuk Gompa, and Zutulpuk Gompa. Following the trek, you’ll explore Tibetan cities including Shigatse and Lhasa, visiting historic monasteries like Sakya and Tashilunpo, and marveling at the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. The adventure concludes with a return to Kathmandu, allowing time for relaxation and reflection before departing. Day 1Arrival at Kathmandu Airport

Arrive at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, where you will be greeted by a representative and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to settle in and acclimate to the new environment. Enjoy the evening at leisure, exploring the local area or relaxing at the hotel in preparation for your upcoming journey.

Day 2Free Day in Kathmandu

Enjoy a free day in Kathmandu to handle any last-minute preparations, including obtaining your China visa. This day is also an opportunity to explore the city’s rich culture and vibrant markets at your own pace. Make sure to rest and prepare for the next stages of your trip.

Day 3Fly Kathmandu to Nepalgunj

Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, a city located in the western part of Nepal. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and settle in. Spend the day relaxing and exploring the local area, preparing for your early morning flight to Simikot the following day.

Day 4Fly Nepalgunj to Simikot, Trek to Dharapuri

Take an early flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot, located at 2,950 meters. From Simikot, begin your trek to Dharapuri (2,330 meters). The trek is relatively short, providing a gentle start to your journey and allowing you to acclimate to the altitude. Overnight in Dharapuri.

Day 5Trek to Yanger

Continue your trek from Dharapuri to Yanger, ascending to 2,850 meters. The trail offers scenic views of the surrounding landscapes and traditional Tibetan villages. Spend the night in Yanger, enjoying the peaceful environment and preparing for the next day’s trek.

Day 6Trek to Torea

Embark on a trek from Yanger to Torea, reaching an altitude of 3,380 meters. This segment of the trek takes you through diverse terrain, including lush valleys and rugged hills. Arrive in Torea, where you will spend the night in local accommodations or camp.

Day 7Trek to Yari

Trek from Torea to Yari, ascending to 3,600 meters. This part of the trek involves crossing varied landscapes and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan foothills. Once in Yari, take time to rest and acclimate to the higher altitude.

Day 8Rest Day in Yari

Spend a rest day in Yari to acclimate to the high altitude and recover from the previous days of trekking. Explore the local area, take short walks, or simply relax. This rest day is crucial for adjusting to the elevation and preparing for the trek to Hilsa.

Day 9Trek to Hilsa via Nara-La

Trek from Yari to Hilsa, passing over the Nara-La Pass at 4,580 meters. The challenging ascent offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Upon reaching Hilsa (3,650 meters), settle in and rest, preparing for the next phase of your journey.

Day 10Jeep Drive to Purang

Travel by jeep from Hilsa to Purang (3,880 meters), enjoying the scenic drive through remote Tibetan landscapes. The drive provides an opportunity to see the changing scenery and experience the rugged beauty of the Tibetan plateau. Overnight in Purang.

Day 11Trek to Manasarovar

Begin your trek from Purang to Lake Manasarovar, reaching an altitude of 4,650 meters. The trek takes you through breathtaking landscapes, culminating at the sacred Lake Manasarovar. Set up camp or find local accommodations near the lake.

Day 12Rest at Manasarovar

Spend the day resting at Lake Manasarovar, allowing your body to adjust to the high altitude. Explore the area around the lake, known for its spiritual significance and stunning natural beauty. Take the day to relax and rejuvenate before continuing your journey.

Day 13Drive to Darchen

Drive from Lake Manasarovar to Darchen (4,650 meters), the starting point for the Mount Kailash Kora. The drive offers beautiful views and provides a chance to prepare for the trek around Mount Kailash. Overnight in Darchen.

Day 14Trek to Dirapuk Gompa

Begin your trek from Darchen to Dirapuk Gompa. This part of the trek takes you through rugged terrain and offers impressive views of Mount Kailash. Set up camp near Dirapuk Gompa for an overnight stay, enjoying the serene surroundings.

Day 15Trek to Zutulpuk Gompa via Dolma-La

Trek from Dirapuk Gompa to Zutulpuk Gompa, passing over the Dolma-La Pass at 5,630 meters. This challenging segment of the trek provides awe-inspiring views of the Himalayan peaks and high-altitude landscapes. Arrive at Zutulpuk Gompa and set up camp for the night.

Day 16Trek Back to Darchen and Drive to Manasarovar

Complete the trek back to Darchen, then drive to Lake Manasarovar. This final leg of the trek offers a reflective journey back to where it all began. Enjoy a final night at Manasarovar, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere and the beauty of the lake.

Day 17Drive Back to Paryang

Drive from Lake Manasarovar to Paryang, experiencing the dramatic changes in the Tibetan landscape. The drive provides ample opportunities to enjoy the vast, remote scenery. Spend the night in Paryang, preparing for the return journey.

Day 18Drive Back to Saga

Continue your drive from Paryang to Saga, a key town along the Tibetan plateau. The journey offers more breathtaking views and a chance to experience the high-altitude environment. Overnight in Saga, reflecting on the adventure so far.

Day 19Drive to Lhatse

Drive from Saga to Lhatse, traversing the expansive Tibetan plateau. The drive provides scenic vistas and a deeper appreciation for the remote beauty of Tibet. Spend the night in Lhatse, preparing for the next leg of the journey.

Day 20Drive to Shigatse and Visit Sakya and Tashilunpo

Travel from Lhatse to Shigatse, visiting the Sakya and Tashilunpo Monasteries along the way. Sakya Monastery is known for its unique architecture and historical significance, while Tashilunpo is an important center of Tibetan Buddhism. Explore these sites and overnight in Shigatse.

Day 21Drive to Lhasa

Drive from Shigatse to Lhasa, the spiritual and cultural heart of Tibet. Enjoy the scenic drive and arrive in Lhasa, where you will have the opportunity to rest and prepare for exploring the city’s renowned landmarks.

Day 22Visit Sera and Drepung Monasteries

In Lhasa, visit Sera and Drepung Monasteries, both significant centers of Tibetan Buddhism. Sera is known for its lively debates among monks, while Drepung was once a major center for the Gelukpa sect. Spend the day exploring these historic sites.

Day 23Visit Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple
